"Man's Reject Is God's Project"
Who God Hire, Let No Man Fire
For over 36 years, Evangelist Gerry Thompson has carried a message that refuses to stay silent. A gospel artist, songwriter, TV host, and international minister whose testimony — "Why I Put the Gun Down" — has transformed lives across continents.
He has shared stages with Morris Cerullo, Benny Hinn, and Reinhard Bonnke. He has been invited to the White House twice. He has performed for Prime Ministers, Presidents, and the Queen of Parliament in London. And still, he shows up for the one who feels forgotten.
"Man's Reject Is God's Project — and who God hire, let no man fire."
Evangelist Gerald Thompson — known the world over as Evangelist Gerry Thompson — is a Minister of Music, Songwriter, Producer, TV Host, and Inspirational Artist whose story begins not in the spotlight, but in the streets. He is the Founder, CEO and President of Vision of Truth Outreach Ministries: "a Ministry where a Nobody becomes a Somebody — because Man's Reject is God's Project and Who God Hire, Let No Man Fire!"
Born in Jamaica and migrated to Canada at age eleven, Gerry gravitated toward the negative influences of street life — pimping, drugs, and violence. He moved to Miami, Florida around age 27 where those influences continued. Then, on his way to shoot a man who had wronged him — 357 Magnum in his waist — God spoke to him and directed him to a tent meeting church service on Ivey Lane in Miami. He put the gun down, gave his life to Christ, and never looked back. That was nearly 40 years ago.
For over 36 years, Evangelist Thompson has carried that message to stages, screens, schools, and sanctuaries across the globe. His music — spanning Gospel, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Country & Western, and Soul — is housed across 12 albums and over 200 songs, available on Spotify, iTunes, and Deezer.
His television program Vision of Truth TV has aired on The God Channel (Iceland), Wonderful Channel (UK), Vision TV (Canada), BET Network, Flow TV (Jamaica), and is currently broadcast on Faith World TV, Sky Channel 588 — reaching 80 countries every Tuesday at 11:30am UK time.
He has shared the stage with Morris Cerullo, Benny Hinn, Reinhard Bonnke, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, and Archbishop Gilbert Deya. He has performed for Prime Ministers, Presidents, and Community Leaders across schools, prisons, gang communities, and churches worldwide. He was honoured to sing with Jamaican icon Louise Bennett-Coverley at Carabram in Brampton, Ontario, and worked with the Bob Marley Foundation — interviewing Bob Marley's mother, Booka Marley. He has been twice honoured to sing on the White House lawn in Washington D.C., through the Prayer for the Nation with Bishop Terry Lee and Hyacinth Production, performing his originals "Try On" and "It's Amazing What God Can Do."
Evangelist Thompson has also appeared in the major motion picture "John Q" starring Denzel Washington, singing in the choir. His community work is equally relentless — motivational speaking in schools, court accompaniment for youth, Crime Stoppers workshops, and one-on-one mentoring for young people that the system has left behind.
He is the Founder, CEO, and President of Vision of Truth Outreach Ministries and Gerry Thompson Communications Inc. His life's mission is simple: a Nobody becomes a Somebody — because Man's Reject is God's Project.
